This is what the disc looked like after we neutralized the acid and cleaned the disc.

The above pictures show the state of several of the "Date With Judy" Transcription Discs, in which we obtained them. As you can see, if the discs are restored properly, they can be nearly as good as new.

Palmitic Acid is generated as a byproduct of the chemical degradation of the plastic (Acetate) disc material.
